This is a tribute to my beloved wife, and loving mother to our beautiful son, Elijah.
Sylvia and I met 15 years ago, in the same office. We shared many similar interests, like a love for trying food, travel, discovering new restaurants, specialty cafes, going to the theatre, and just being out and about experiencing new things. Not long after that fateful day, we got engaged.
Life, however, threw Sylvia a major curveball 14 years ago. But she battled valiantly, we then got married and against the odds, was blessed with a child.
Sylvia walked this earth with a beautiful smile, and the sun just seemed to shine whereever she set foot on. She was a kind soul, and was always generous and saw only the good in people. She was a natural at putting other people's needs before hers and was blessed with a big heart that touched so many people's lives in her short time with us.
Sylvia was a born fighter. When those curveballs came by, she picked herself up quickly, made the best of it and just got on with everything. She fought bravely and tirelessly for 14 years, till the very end. We are all so proud of her.
Sylvia passed away peacefully at the Peace Hospice in Watford, with both Elijah and myself by her side. Although she is no longer with us physically, I know she will remain in our hearts and minds forever. Knowing her, she will be out there looking after her family and friends in spirit, such is her nature.
To my dearest wife, Sylvia, I feel so blessed that we had the chance to travel on this journey together. You have enriched my life, brought joy and love to our son Elijah and countless others. I will miss you. We will all miss you. We cherish all those special moments together and will love you forever.
